Kibale National Park offers perhaps the best opportunity in the world to see our closest relatives in the wild – chimpanzees. This is because in Kibale National Park the naturally skittish chimps have, with time, become increasingly habituated to the presence of humans and are therefore more likely to be seen on the ground, behaving naturally, rather than running away or climbing high into the trees. Chimpanzees are clearly highly intelligent and their behaviour is often uncannily human-like. They are absolutely fascinating and it feels like a real privilege to spend time with them.
Additional activities in Kibale include various activities for children.
Chimp Tracking – $200.
Chimp Habituation Experience Full Day $250.
Additional attractions near Kibale include biking / swimming / walking in the Kasenda Crater Lakes, day walks in the Rwenzori Mountains, mountain biking through Toro-Semliki Game Reserve, birding / visiting hot springs in Semliki National Park.
