You might think that with Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, having nearly half of all mountain gorillas, Uganda has already got more than its fair share and you’d be right. But that doesn’t stop it having another national park with mountain gorillas in it! However, unfortunately, they are not always in it. Sometimes they cross the border into neighbouring DRC, so Bwindi Impentrable National Park is a safer bet. Having said that if you like mountain hiking this could work as a good option combining mountain gorilla trekking with climbing either Gahinga, Sabinyo or Muhavura volcanos; each of which are spectacular one-day hikes.
Additional activities in Mgahinga activities include Batwa trail experience, gorge walk, golden monkey tracking and various activities for children.
Additional attractions near Mgahinga include the beautiful Lakes Mutanda and Bunyonyi.
