Queen Elizabeth National Park is a beautifully varied park. It has forest, savanna, woodland, water and wetland which means it also has the greatest number of bird species in Uganda – a total of 604! It also has lots of elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, waterbuck, warthog and hippopotamus, with a very good chance of seeing lion and hyena and a reasonable chance of seeing leopard and giant forest hog. The Crater drive is spectacular with great views into the extinct craters which are now decked with forest, savannah or water and sometimes flamingoes! There are incredible spots for morning coffee breaks and spectacular sunsets!
