The snow-capped Rwenzoris are Africa’s highest mountain range. Rwenzori Trekking Services provide an excellent service ranging from 1-day walks in the foothills to 12 days climbing all the major peaks. The guides are superb, the food is OK and the accommodation is in huts with mattresses – what luxury! There are beautiful endemic birds, magical waterfalls, weirdly wonderful flora and fauna and of course outstanding views. If you are reasonably fit it is a wonderful opportunity not to be missed!
Additional Walks
It is also possible to do one day walks in the Rwenzoris towards the Northern end of the mountain range, either in the park or outside, along the disused old Bundibugyo Road which passes through a National Forest Reserve.
